By using the English proofreading and copyediting services offered by English Proofs, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

CONFIDENTIALITY & RIGHTS

Personal Information

We require your personal information, such as name, email address and contact number in order to process your proofreading or text editing requests. Proof of student identification (e.g., a scan of your student ID) is necessary to determine your eligibility for student discounts. Your I.P. address may be recorded for the purpose of monitoring our website traffic.

Your personal information is safe with us. We will not release, publish, or sell it in any form to any third party. English Proofs will not send unsolicited mailers or perform cold calls. Any personal identifier shown on the English Proofs website related to a testimonial or any other form of endorsement from you will only be revealed with your written permission.

Your Texts

We value the immense effort that you put into generating any new knowledge and will not release, publish, or sell your texts in any form (original or corrected) to any third party. You retain ownership and copyright of all texts (original and corrected) and other materials that you may submit to us for proofreading or copyediting.

Your privacy and the confidentiality of your work are of utmost importance to us. All our proofreaders are contractually bound to ensure the safety of your documents.

All information pertaining to your texts and any additional related resources or materials sent to us will be completely and irreversibly deleted from our databases 60 days from the completion of the transaction, i.e., when you have received the corrected texts and we have received payment in full.

Anti-plagiarism

We strongly discourage plagiarism and reserve the right to decline assignments that blatantly disregard the principles of ethical writing. We are happy to assist authors in following the proper citation practice and improving their writing skills.

PAYMENT

We only accept payments via PayPal. Editing will only begin upon clearance of the PayPal invoice. Payment should be made as soon as possible if the assignment is urgent. We count down to your required turnaround time based on the point of payment as reflected in our PayPal records.

DISCLAIMERS

Your Liabilities

You are personally responsible and liable for the way you use the English Proofs website and our services. We will not be held responsible for any illegal activity or wrongdoing caused by you.

Third-Party Services

English Proofs uses third-party services (e.g., Google, PayPal, XE Universal Currency Converter,  Skype or Zoom) to serve our clients. While we work with established companies, we are not in control of their operations. You therefore agree that we will not be held liable for any delay in communication in the event of breakdown, disruption or malfunction in any of these services. In case of unexpected disruptions, we are most willing to explore other avenues to circumvent any inconvenience because at English Proofs, your success and satisfaction is our priority.

TERMINATION OF SERVICES

We reserve the right to terminate our services with immediate effect if you are found to be in violation of the above terms and conditions.
